These 3 drawings show an evolution of the final illustration. beginning with a sketchbook sketch of a simple figure which expanded into a more detailed image with a more mysterious setting and then evolving into a yet more action filled and haunting drawing.

And yet another direction that one image can take into different drawings based on the same theme.

The evolution of a drawing can take it's time. Each of these pictures spent most of their time in my sketchbook, mostly they were just a dynamic pose of a cute girl and my experiments with light and dark. The fantasy element came in much later or evolved over time until something just clicked and seemed to fit the original drawing. Sometimes it's just seeing an object that clicks something in your mind. when that happens, you have to sit down and draw.
RAVEN a character study for a friends project.
I gave myself a number of exercises to use only black and white in my drawing to explore negative/positive space...I cheated on the flames.

I've always liked Marvel girls old costume and not that yellow and blue  monstrosity from the 90's.
Photoshop, I did these based on old drawings of mine, to force me to learn photoshop.
